Lighting flicker ghosting & LED Issues

One of the most common issues in older C-Bus systems occurs after replacing traditional halogen lamps with low-power LED bulbs.

Lights flickering intermittently
Single bulbs staying ON when switched OFF
Dimmer instability
Ghosting - some lights stay on when the circuit is off

                Cause:

               Older C-Bus dimmers were originally designed for higher electrical circuit loads of 200W+.
                Modern LEDs often draw less than 5W, causing unstable dimmer operation.
            

                Recommended Solution:

             Install load correction devices at each dimmer channel to stabilise the circuit and restore reliable operation. 
             Or replace the dimmer with one of the new SpaceLogic options.
            

C-BUS Network lock-ups

Intermittent C-BUS communication faults can become more common as installations age.

Switches flickering randomly
Lights failing to turn ON or OFF
Entire C-Bus network freezing
Faults appearing inconsistently

                Possible Causes:

                Deterioration of electronic components, mechanical faults, unstable bus power supplies, or damage caused by power surges and lightning events.

                Diagnosis:

              These faults can be extremely difficult to locate, especially when the issue is intermittent and not present during testing. 
              Once the problem is found it usually a case of replacing the part thats causing the intermittent fault.
